Widget: Convert R Squared to R

If you use the Regression Calculator to fit your data to a linear model, part of the output is the R² value. The tool below will allow you to convert R² to R, the linear correlation coefficient.

You will receive two results representing the possible values for R. To determine which one is appropriate, look at a scatter plot of your data, or your regression model.

• If the scatter plot shows a positive association, or your regression model has a positive slope, you want the positive value. 
• If the scatter plot shows a negative association, or your regression model has a negative slope, you want the negative value.
