Test a claim about three averages. If you choose to test a claim about the means you are using a one-way ANOVA test to test the following hypotheses:

H₀: μ₁ = μ₂ = μ₃
H_a: At least one mean is different

If you choose to test a claim about the medians you are using a Kruskal-Wallis test to test the following hypotheses:

H₀: median₁ = median₂ = median₃
H_a: At least one median is different

For each test, the result is the p-value from conducting the test.
