Data: Do Employers Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day?

According to a 2012 survey of 628 employers, only 32% "will give the civil rights leader's birthday (January 21) as a paid holiday to most or all of their workers."

The same survey revealed that only 11% "reported that they will sponsor programs or events to acknowledge Dr. King's life and achievements, regardless of whether they will give the day off."
